How do I become a Referral Agent?
To become a Referral Agent, you must register on our database by supplying your name and a password (which you can create for yourself). Once you register, you will be supplied with a Referral ID that you will use together with your password to access your account.

To make referrals, you must use the URL we supply you with when you register, as a hyperlink in one or more of your web pages on your site. This URL will register you as the Referring Agent when the user clicks through to our site. When the user makes a booking, the booking will be registered in your account; when the user pays for the rental, the commission - 10% of the rental amount not including surcharges and taxes - will be credited to your account.

For example, suppose we send you the URL
http://www.africa-car-hire.com/gateway.asp?id=007
you will need to include it as a link in the HTML of your page something like this:
<a href='http://www.africa-car-hire.com/gateway.asp?id=007'>Car Rental</a>
The URL in the anchor tag must be exactly the one we send you; the text between the anchor tags - Car Rental in the case above - can be anything you like that will tell users where they're going.

Alternatively, if you don't have a website and want to simply make a booking for your clients directly on our site, simply type the URL into your browser address box and navigate to the site that way. This will register you as the referring agent and any booking made will be accredited to you - see image below:

You can also log-in on the site, and then submit an e-mail booking by using the 'Mail us a query' link in your account management page.

How much money will I earn?
You will earn 10% of the total vehicle rental amount excluding surcharges and taxes, of each successful paid rental referral bearing your ID. Repeat: you only get paid for bookings that actually materialise and are paid for by the user - see Referral Terms and Conditions.

How do I get paid?
Once you have accumulated actual successfully paid rental referrals on your account, we will contact you via e-mail to establish the method of payment you prefer. We do this to cut down on unnecessary admin for agents that don't use their referral URL successfully.

When do I get paid?
You will be paid on the 15th day of each month succeeding one in which your outstanding credit exceeds R100.00. Administrative costs limit us to only paying you once you have accumulated a minimum of R100.00 in your account, so you will need to put through a couple of successful referrals each month if you want to get paid regularly, otherwise payment will be delayed until your balance reaches R100.00. Should you de-register as a Referral Agent, you will automatically be paid whatever your outstanding balance is at the end of the month in which you de-register, whether this amount exceeds R100.00 or not.

How does a referral work?
Whenever a user links through to our site using your URL, a record is made of any and all bookings made by that user on our site during that visit. While a user is on the site after linking through from your page, your name will appear in the page as an associate. You will by default be informed by e-mail whenever a booking is credited to you, but you can turn this e-mail reporting off by using your account management page. Once the booking is successfully concluded and paid for, the 10% commission will be credited to your account.

How do I know if I'm getting any referrals?
Whenever a user links from your site to ours and makes a booking, you will be informed by e-mail (you can turn this e-mail reporting off by using your account management page). This booking will be recorded on the database, and when the user finally pays for the rental you will be credited with the 10% commision. You can review your referrals and other account details at any time by using your account management page. To access your account, you must log-in using your Referral ID and password.

Can I access my account and manage it?
You can review your referrals and other account details at any time by using your account management page. To access your account, you must log-in using your Referral ID and password. On the management page, you can:

  • View all referrals from your site that led to a booking
  • View the referrals that led to a successful rental
  • View the referrals on which a commision has been credited to you
  • View your commissions and account balance, and a history of payments made to you by us
  • Set the e-mail reporting method that informs you of referral bookings
  • E-mail account queries to us
  • De-register as a Referral Agent

How many referrals do I need to make?
There is no requirement for you to make any number of referrals at all. Any referral which comes through to our site from your URL, will be credited to you - irrespective of how many such referrals there are. There is no minimum number of referrals per month, or anything like that.
Please read this, though.

How do I de-register?
To de-register, you must log-in using your Referral ID and password. Use the De-register link to de-register yourself as a Referral Agent; the moment you do this your URL will be de-activated on the site, and you will be paid any outstanding balance at the end of the month in which you de-register.

Can I re-activate my account after de-registering?
Yes - if you log-in on a de-activated account, you will be offered the opportunity to re-activate it. As soon as your account has been re-activated, you will be informed by e-mail. At the time of re-activation, you will be able to adjust your account details if any of these (such as your e-mail address for example) have changed.
