Upington Airport shows off with the longest runway in Africa. It might be a one of the smaller airports in South Africa, but it is the key air access point to the Kalahari. Commercial airlines operate a few flights a day to Upington, most of the passengers of who are on business and holiday.
The best way to explore the vast region is by car. We have established a vehicle hire depot at Upington to service the demand for self drive visitors. Upington has some magnificent attractions nearby which include the Orange River wine region where you can taste wine at five different cellars.
Upington is also the Gateway to the Namaqualand spring flower region, Augrabies Falls National Park, Kagalagadi Transfrontier Park and southern Namibia.
