Situated on the Kwazulu Natal Coast, Umhlanga Rocks is only half an hours drive north of Durban. Initially part of Sir Marshall Campbell’s sugar estate, it soon became popular vacation destination with local farmers who leased small plots on the ocean and build holiday cottages. Umhlanga Rocks in 1931 became a village and more cottages, hotels, stores and guesthouse were built.
This premier beach resort town is characterised by a lighthouse, wonderful bathing beaches which are patrolled by life guards and protected by shark nets. We have established a vehicle hire office in Umhlanga to service the demand for car rentals.
Umhlanga rocks as a resort offers Hotel based holiday, which is attraction to visitors. The town’s local shopping area has smart and well-stocked malls, however the Gateway Mall at Umhlanga Ridge is an enormous shopping centre with 400 shops and 14 cinemas.
